Mobile M+ is back with INFLATION!
After the successful debut in Yau Ma Tei last summer, the “Mobile M+” series is back with “Inflation!” engaging the public ahead of the opening of the museum.

From 25 April to 9 June 2013, “Mobile M+: Inflation!” will feature six giant inflatable sculptures on the site of the forthcoming Park at West Kowloon Cultural District, next to the future M+. Monumental artworks of this scale have never been presented alongside one another in Hong Kong, making it one of the largest contemporary art exhibitions ever mounted in the city.

The exhibition brings some of the most important works of public sculpture created in recent years to the city for the first time, and features selections by internationally renowned artists including Choi Jeong Hwa (South Korea), Jeremy Deller (UK), Jiakun Architects (China), Paul McCarthy (USA), as well as newly commissioned artworks by local and regional artists Tam Wai Ping (Hong Kong) and Cao Fei (China). The six works will be accompanied by a magical solar dome performance piece by Tomás Saraceno (Argentina) which will be staged at dawn on 4 and 25 May and 8 June, promising to be an unforgettable experience of a life-time.

As a prelude to the opening of M+ and the park, “Mobile M+: Inflation!” will not only create a diverse experience that probes the role of public art in the context of an evolving and endlessly mutating constructed landscape, but will also highlight the future possibilities for multi-disciplinary arts programming in the future park.

Artists, composers and members of the community are invited to respond to the themes of "Mobile M+:Inflation!" and the artworks through a series of free on-site events every weekend during the exhibition period, ranging from artist talks, workshops, guided tours to performances. Register now before they are full!
