WKCD Authority Supports Arts in the Community
November was a busy month for the WKCDA and its CEO. While the Authority was in full gear proceeding with the Stage 2 of the Public Engagement exercise, Mr Graham Sheffield still managed to set aside some time from his busy schedule to officiate two important arts events: the Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras 2010, and the launch of WKCDialogues.
Since 2008, the Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras has been a popular community arts event attracting over 70,000 visitors to enjoy its parades, arts stalls and dance performances. This year’s event, inspired by the five elements and how they influence our lives and art, saw Mr Sheffield participating in activities with local youth and enjoying the parade at Victoria Park’s Central Lawn.
Mr Sheffield also served as one of the officiating guests at the launch of WKCDialogues, an online platform encouraging public and professional discussion about Hong Kong’s future arts and cultural hub. Mr. Eric Schuldenfrei, Creative Director of WKCDialogues, believes that this platform allows people to participate and contribute in a dynamic discussion. All comments and responses will be consolidated and presented to WKCD Authority.
