WKCDA’s face to face dialogue with the Children's Rights Forum
The WKCDA participated in the Children’s Rights Forum on 5 January 2010 to collect views from youths. The agenda of the meeting specifically focused on the development and planning of the WKCD. Over 30 young participants exchanged their views and opinions on the issues of the WKCD development. During the meeting, participants expressed their wish for the District to provide sufficient public area so that they can appreciate arts and culture freely in that area and develop their creativity. Most importantly, they believed that facilities within the WKCD should be designed and constructed to accommodate all walks of life, including children with different needs.
Curtain Falls on
Stage 1Public Engagement Exercise
Stakeholder groups and members of the public came out in droves to voice their aspirations for the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) during the Stage 1 Public Engagement (PE) exercise, which closed on 7 January 2010. The three-month exercise that began on 8 October 2009 generated a wealth of input, which will help the WKCD Authority (WKCDA) develop a vibrant arts and cultural district for Hong Kong.
Interview with Dr Allan Zeman
Wearing black from head to toe, it seems that Dr Allan Zeman, Chairman of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority’s Performing Arts Committee, has dressed appropriately. He’s been interviewing applicants for the Authority’s senior positions. The successful applicants will be the people leading the Authority’s efforts to turn the West Kowloon Cultural District—and Hong Kong—into a global hotbed for the performing arts. With a serious task like this on his hands, it helps to appear all business.
