During the Stage 1 of public engagement exercise, two public forums have been organised on 25th October and 8th November respectively at the Hong Kong Science Museum and the Shouson Theatre at Hong Kong Arts Centre. About 400 members of the public and stakeholders groups participated. After the angelic voices of Hong Kong Treble Choir in the first forum and comedic performance by Hong Kong Repertory theatre in the second forum, participants took the floor and expressed their views and opinions on the development of WKCD. They also hoped that WKCD will be able to capture the true essence of Hong Kong's distinct local culture, to become an arts and cultural district for all and a hub where East meets West.
WKCDA chairman Henry Tang listens to stakeholders' views
The Honourable Henry Tang, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and Chairman of the WKCD Authority Board, attended a focus group meeting on 25 November to hear the views of the various participating performing arts groups for the Concert Hall and Chamber Music Hall.

WKCDA board positive about West Kowloon Terminus of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link
On 26 November 2009, the WKCDA Board received a detailed briefing by representatives of the Transport and Housing Bureau, Highways Department and Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited on the design scheme for the West Kowloon Terminus (WKT) of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) during the open session of the 7th Board meeting.
